For anyone experiencing difficulties or imperfections and looking for a replacement, there is currently a 3-4 lead time.

The pass-through charging port on my MK is inoperative and not delivering power to my iPP.

I have spoken to Apple and they have concluded a hardware issue and offered a replacement, but they (allegedly) do not have available stock to accommodate a replacement.

A complaint has been logged and escalated.

I’ve got an issue with mine too (‘im in the UK) and I was told by a representative today that I wouldn’t have to wait for a replacement and that a new one would be sent out as soon as they received the old one, as they ‘prioritise’ replacements. Hwoever, other people have been told the same as you and that it is a 3-4 week wait time. I suspect the information I was given was wrong.

I'm sorry to hear that. IMHO they should send a new one out right away, with a back-up credit card number supplied, in the buyer fails to return the original.

Que, the pundits who will say it is only a small percentage of failures. Okay, but take care of those that jumped on the "train" early.
 
Guys.. try with an official apple cable.
It will work... i had the same issue. It doesn’t recognize the old cables.

It doesn’t recognize ”old“ third party cables? Or it doesn’t recognize an older Apple USB-C cable?
 
Yes, I’ve had trouble with third party cables in my vehicle. I try to buy only Apple cables. But the spouse keeps on seeding the collection with non-Apple.

Yeap.. they are returning a keyboard that is ok i think.
<i saw the same topic in other forums. <i had the same problem, but i changed the cable... and works perfectly.

*UPDATE*

I received my replacement AMK today and found the original fault identified to still be present.

This confirms that it is a likely specific to the design and not a fault or an isolated incident.

I have started a new thread regarding Power Delivery options: Chargers and cables.

I should buy shares in Anker/Amazon/Apple..!!
