iPad messenger shows a message that isn’t there.

I’ve got the red “!” notice, but there’s no message. I’ve done a couple of hard restarts and it doesn’t go away.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

It happens to everyone every so often. It's one of apples persistent bugs. Click through each conversation you have. Then force close the app.

If you have other apple devices, do the same on them.

Never heard of that, but I fixed it by turning off notifications and restarting. Thanks!
