iPad Mini 1st gen LCD issue/scanlines after digitizer replacement

My son's ipad Mini had cracked touch screen (but the LCD had no issue, and it was still working fine). I replaced the digitizer, and when I turned it back on, the LCD screen now has these scanlines. Please see the photo.

What can I do to fix this?

I’d open it back up and check all the connectors. One may have not seated properly. If that doesn’t fix it, the display is defective.
