Hello all,

Just updated my iPad mini 2 to iOS 10.
Couple of questions though since some things seems to be weird.

1. I suppose that the old good and trusted "slide to unlock" is now gone for my iPad or am I missing something?
2. Control center with tabs is good but nothing as useful as the old one. Now if I want to change the brightness and the sound at the same time I have to swipe twice instead of one time in iOS 9. Am I missing something here too? Is it possible to rearrange somehow control's center functions?

Yes, slide to unlock is gone.

You're stuck with CC how it is. I agree, it's asinine on a screen as large as the iPad's.

Ok then. From my point of view, they have just added another point of failure: home button. More presses on it means more wear.
I did however found a trick using iBackupBot as described here.
I would probably give it a try in the next days.

How's your performance? Is the original OG A7 chip holdin up well.

Pretty good I can say. Considering that this specific iPad was on the latest iOS 8 version, I do not have any complaints except the original 2 I posted in the first message.
I intentionally had left it in iOS 8 since my girlfriend's iPad mini 2 felt a bit laggy in iOS 9. But I decided to take the step and I can say it is really good.

Yah I've seen iOS 10 looks better than 9 performance wise or at least in terms of smoothness and such.

I have an iPad mini 2 and call tell that iOS 10 runs smoother than 9. A lot less lag over all.

Miss slide to unlock, but the ability to delete all those stock apps is golden. Only app I wish I could delete but can't is Photo Booth.

As soon as my girlfriend's iPad comes in my hands, I will update it to iOS 10.
Although I am going straight forward for the slide to unlock code trick.
She is constantly using iPad's cover and I don't think home button should be exposed t o this wear.
Question: will iOS updates be received and installed normally from the time code trick applied?

You can still use it like you used to if you use Touch ID, so you don't have to worry about wear and tear.
