My retina iPad mini feels like it keeps getting slower as time goes on. I'm wondering if it is simply the fact that each new iOS takes much more processing power to operate. Or the fact that my iPhone X is ridiculously fast and that exploits the old mini iPad's performance? Checking the battery health with Coconut Battery shows its design capacity is still 85.9%, and storage space is 64% used. I don't use it for much but when I do it is slow. It often reloads web pages if I'm switching between apps and come back to Safari. Any tips to speed this thing up?

If web browsing is the biggest culprit, and you feel this is slowing your productivity or efficiency, jump on the following two free apps:

(1) Puffin Web Browser - this is the fastest browser I’ve ever encountered. This is the key. My ipad 4 retina was slowing up using both the safari and dolphin web browsers, slapped this on and my 4th gen ipad’s web browsing speed has increased exponentially.
(2) 1Blocker - similar to adblocker

***Edit: I wanted to update my post with the following information because I didn’t know this....

I would recommend staying away from Puffin. It is a proxy viewer. They can see everything you do, bank accounts, passwords, email.

I have the mini 2, and yes, overall UI is not as smooth as before ever since iOS 10. The way iOS 11 does control center makes things worse since the device has to draw the whole multitasking screen just to access control center, slowing overall UI down. Running individual apps still feel okay though, even games.

Not sure why the UI has to “lag”, I mean this is not like a major jump in UI ala iOS 6 to 7. Why should a device performing like a champ in drawing the UI in previous versions of the OS lags in iOS 11.

As for reloading apps, note that the mini 2 only has 1GB of RAM. It was plenty at that time, but progress caught up.
