Greetings,

I'm considering getting either an iPad Mini or an iPod Touch. It's difficult because the bigger screen on the mini of course makes browsing easier, but the portability of the iPod is definitely very convenient.

However, I'm not able to find any good info on the sixth generation's battery life. I just find information about audio and video, which seems to be information that would be of interest more so to older versions of the iPod. I would primarily use it for internet browsing.

Which would would have the better battery life?

Thanks.

I have both and the battery life of the Mini 2 is much better then the Touch 6. I personally would still get the Touch 6 before the Mini 2 because of portability.

As a former owner of 5th Gen. iPod Touch and current owner of 2nd Gen. iPad mini I would highly recommend going the iPad mini route. I was always disappointed with the iPod Touch's lackluster battery life which is not surprising considering the small (1030 mAh) battery it contained. The newest iPod Touch contains only a slightly higher capacity (1043 mAH) battery. From reviews I've read on Amazon and TA, the battery life is still lackluster.

The iPad Mini 2nd Gen. on the other hand has an excellent battery life. The size/screen size is also perfect for gaming and browsing. If you're in the U.S. you can buy a 16 GB 2nd Gen iPad Mini now for $199, same price as the 6th Gen. iPod Touch! So, unless portability is your #1 concern, definitely consider the 2nd Gen. mini.

i was in a similar situation (although i was looking at the mini 4) and ended up going with the 6g touch. pocket-ability won out for me. plus i'm never really far away from a plug socket. only had mine a few days and so tested my 6g battery going from 100% > 0%. airplane mode on but wifi enabled, screen off. airplay (320mp3) random music streaming to a speaker. got roughly 8 hours continuous streaming until i got to 0%. i'm more than happy with that performance

Buy both, or even better an iPad Mini 4 plus the iPod Touch 6.

It's what I use along with my android phones.
