Which do you see as the better value?

I'm leaning towards the mini combo myself.I just hope there's lots of refurb units available this year.

If you want, or need, a quad core CPU get the 2012 quad i7 Mac mini on refurb while you can.

Refurb iPad Mini 2 in 32, 64, or 128GB + refurb quad Mac mini would be a nice setup.

I would do the 13" MBP w/ a monitor. If you cant do a monitor then the Mini + iPad Mini
