$100 for Touch ID is insane. On the other hand, an iPad mini retina for only $299 is a good deal.
I'm not sure how much of a "good deal" it really is. The mini didn't compare well in price with other products, the only reason it wasn't blown out of the water at the start was that it's an Apple product.
One of the issues not discussed so far is that the rMini wasn't "state of the art" when it was 1st released (close, but not best). Now, the others have even more time to overtake it.
It's sad that the only products I want from Apple are being killed off. I only wanted either an iPT or rMini and both look to be dying off.
Apple should look again at the mobile business market, where the iPad is too large for some and the Mini is just the right size for millions of workers because it can fit places where the iPad is just to cumbersome.
I write business apps for workers that just don't want to carry a larger tablet and the phone (even the 6+) is not large enough and they don't need a phone.
Color me disappointed.
Only good news is the mini 2 is now cheaper although very out dated.
I would have been happier if they did NOTHING to the mini except the price, at least then we wouldn't have to wait another year.
no comment on the iPT
