I can't believe they are £50 in the UK though! That means to get what is effectively a polyurethane Smart Case it costs £80 (that's about $120). Not sure how long it will take for third party sleeves to start coming out, I don't want to leave my new iPad unprotected for too long.
Yup, no leather case. The mini has never had leather offered. Still un loved.
When I got my mini two at launch the leather case was not offered - thus my comment. I stand corrected, but again leather is not offered at launch. Not true, I've got the leather smart case for the mini 2 - it's actually a great case and I would happily of bought similar for the mini 4. In saying that, I got the same case for the Air 2 and returned it as it was quite deep and not a perfect fit - it made the Air 2 much thicker than it needed to be.

Really? So you nix a decice because of a case that you can buy third party...
And this is one sweet device we're talking about.
This is the Mini sized iPad we are discussing, and for the back I use the 'Skinomi® TechSkin - Apple iPad Mini 4 Screen Protector + Full Body Skin Protector'. The front i leave bare because I take my Mini everywhere. A cover hampers its fit in my back pocket. I dont use the front Skinomi protector at all.Yup, I have not ever seen a case with this nice fit for either Air or Mini. I've been through several cases. And I prefer leather.
I always have my mini with me on the go and I need scratch protection and so on, when it is in a backpack with many other items.
I want the full Apple experience or rather wait

I have what I perceive to be the full Apple experience as I am connected to the echo system and the internet at all times with the data verson of my iPad and have it and use it all day long. I do have a front cover made by Apple for my mini too but rarely use it. And the back is well protected from scratches. The Skinomi is microns thin, so it is almost like using the device naked, but with a good grip.
I guess, thats the beauty of choice- I will enjoy my Mini 4 now and you can start when Apple makes a leather case, if they make a leather case.
Edit
Btw, I do have a beautiful and very functional Leather case for my Mini 2 that is made by Bear Motion. It is still in almost new condition because I rarely used it, but its fit and beauty is exceptional.
Agreed. Enjoy your new device when you pull the trigger.I also have Best Skin Ever front and back skin on my Mini 2 and then it's also in the Smart Case. I've tried a thicker skin than BSE, but I wasn't satified with it. I LOVE BSE, but would never use it as the only protection for my mini 2.
Yup, I can live with a Mini 2, because we've got a big line of Apple products in our home already. And the Mini 2 got LTE and loads of data every month.
I think I will live happily with out a new Mini for now
It is interesting to hear the different wishes and use for the Mini - even when I do not share the same opinions
Where did you order a sleeve from?Looks useful in some situations so I ordered the gray one, but would mostly just use it without the back cover in a leather sleeve so I've also pre-ordered a sleeve
I got one from http://jolioriginals.com, been using their stuff for some years now and they are perfect.Where did you order a sleeve from?
I really wanted one of those, but they don't make one that fits with the Smart Cover any more, which is sadly a bit of a deal breaker for me.I got one from http://jolioriginals.com, been using their stuff for some years now and they are perfect.
