iPad Mini 4 Model Numbers - What's the difference?

My wife and I have 2 iPad Mini 4 64gb LTE tablets. Both are Space Gray, but have different model numbers. What is the difference?

iPad 1: MK802LL/A
iPad 2: MK892LL/A

The 802 version is specific to Verizon and the 892 is a cellular version not tied to a specific carrier. Did you buy them from different places?

Thanks for the reply. I had bought them both used from GameStop. They both worked fine with our T-Mobile SIM cards, so I'm guessing the fact that one was originally for Verizon doesn't really matter.

Not anymore it doesn't. All iPads that are cellular versions now will connect to any network.
