What is the average battery life those with a mini 4 have been experiencing?

My brand new mini has never lasted beyond 8 hours, and it seems like it's getting worse. I have all of the common culprits of battery drainage off including background app refresh, I use it on below half brightness, just can't seem to figure out what the issue could be. My previous mini 2 lasted much longer with the same usage, and I simply restored this mini 4 with that backup and used it as I normally would.
[doublepost=1458773973][/doublepost]I should add that the bottom right side of the iPad gets very warm when watching videos on YouTube and it seems to drain percentages faster while watching them as well.

No probs here. I use it all day and I never go below 60%.
Damn it. It took me 4 tries to get a good screen and now this. I'm assuming there's no way to test my battery to see if something is definitely physically wrong? I know if you purchase Apple Care Plus after you've purchased and set up your iPad Apple will perform a diagnostic test before selling you the Apple Care Plus, but I haven't decided if I'm going to get that. Just since posting this I have went down to 35% battery just casually browsing the web (no other app open) at 40% brightness.

Just did a test with interesting results. With brightness at the lowest level and no other apps open, watching a video on YouTube via the YouTube app drained my battery 1% in 2 minutes. Watching the same video on the Tubex app, however, the battery drained 1% in 10 minutes. Has anyone else seen significant battery drain when using the official YouTube app?

Just do a search. It's a horrible underdeveloped app for iOS and android users.

Watching that much youtube will kill your battery for sure.
What do you mean "that much"? I don't watch a lot - maybe an hour, two hours max total per day. And my mini 2 lasted 10 plus hours with the same usage just fine.

Also, just realized this thread should probably be in the troubleshooting section. Mods, please feel free to move it there if you wish.

50% of your usage is Youtube based on the picture shown, unfortunately that kills battery on most devices. Maybe you have an issue, go a day or two without it and see if its better.

YouTube accounts for 50% of your battery usage. Was the percentage that high on your Mini 2 with the same usage?

Got to agree with the others, if 50% of your use is watching YouTube videos, that's the culprit. The best way to get a comparison is to try using a better optimised app for your viewing, rather than the battery hog that is the official app.

My wife has a Mini 4 and when she just uses it for her normal browsing and reading it can get her through at least a couple of days without a charge. If she throws in some YouTube, it gets nowhere near that.

Okay, let's get this straight - the usage that I posted was 3:49. Half of that was YouTube, which is roughly a bit more than an hour and a half. My total YouTube usage for the day is never more than 2 hours total. It just so happened that the example I posted included my day's YouTube usage in total. As I said repeatedly, I used my iPad mini 2 in the same manner with no issues whatsoever.

No, YouTube accounts for 50% of your power usage, not 50% of your usage time. YouTube could use the same power in 1 hour that all of your other apps combined use in 3! Your battery drain still seems a bit off though. I regularly watch a fair bit of YouTube and I still get 11-12 hours of use per charge. Certainly at least 10.

Here's my stats right now. I can post another pic when I get close to empty, but that may not be until sometime tomorrow.

Thanks - I didn't even know you could select the clock and get more information like that. Today went better ... but obviously I watched less videos. Never experienced such drain with my iPad mini 2 while watching videos, and it still seems your battery life is much better even though I use less apps.

Well, here I am near the end. I actually watched more YouTube and Netflix than I usually do over the last couple of days. Normally I could have probably squeezed 12 hours out of it.

Just wanted to update and say that somehow, someway my battery life has been much better lately. Check out the screenshot below. Maybe it just needed some more usage to calibrate itself and stabilize correctly. I don't know, but I'm happy. Also, after switching from the Apple silicone case and selling it, I couldn't find anything else as good and for some reason the Apple silicone case I re-purchased seems to be a bit less tacky and attractive of dust, lint, and hair than the first one I had (not perfect, but better). So, happy all the way around now.
