I have a Air 2, iPad 5, XS Max and now a Mini 5 also. I can't believe how fast it is. I want the touch id on my XS Max. I came from a 6+ and can not believe how quickly it unlocks. It puts my XS Max to shame when unlocking.

I put all 3 iPad's on the desk and ran SpeedTest to test the modems. The Mini was the fastest of them all. As I write this I should have tested the XS Max too.

Apps load quicker and run faster.

I agree. The new mini is fast. I have been enjoying using it. And as fast as the second generation Touch ID is on the new mini, it isn't quite as fast as FaceID on the XS Max.

Seriously my iPad Pro 3rd gen is very quick to unlock. You do NOT need to touch anything. You can just say hey Siri open this, and it has already launched the app before you realize the unlocking is already finished.

I do not miss a home button. The mini 5 is great and everything, but Apple just updated its internals so they can generate sells to the 7-8” tablet market. And there product can smoke other smaller tablets lol.

Yes, it is a fantastic device. I adore mine too! However, I believe Face ID is just as fast, and just as great.

I would have loved if the ipad mini had gotten face ID. I love it on my 11” ipad pro. Perhaps in the next update. I just wasn’t willing to wait for possibly another 4 years for Apple to update the mini again.
