iPad mini 5 this year?

Some people think that there will probably be an iPad mini 5 this year. Some people don't.
Only Apple knows for sure and they don't post here.
The guesses at when this would be announced could range from tomorrow all the way through late October. (Apple usually likes to have its product lineup defined when going into the holiday season, so no new product announcements in November or December.)
I have not seen any evidence either way strongly indicating Apple's next move for the iPad mini.
Remember that most rumors posted to this site (and other tech media sites) don't become reality or end up being inaccurate, sometimes wildly. Any iPad mini rumors would still have to be taken with a large grain of salt.

I hope that Apple not only releases an iPad mini 5, but that they make it a "Pro" model with apple pencil support. It's about time. But as others have said in this thread...only Apple knows. Rumors said Apple would announce new ipads in March, but now they are saying they will be delayed until later in the year.
I'm SO HAPPY there is yet ANOTHER thread about this! Can't be enough speculation here about the iPad Mini. 9_9

Sorry guys didn't mean to get everyone pissed off. Just asking cause this will be my first iPad. I got my first iPhone back in September.
even if the new ipad mini will be the 9.7" go for it, when it will be announced, it is already a remarkable tablet
Most of us are nice, I swear!
In all likelihood, there will be an update to the iPad mini along with the updates to the current 9.7" and 12.9" models.
The most likely time frame for these updates would be March, but there have been rumors of chip delays that may push production back a few months.
Also, I would not expect the Mini to be updated with a million new features. I see Apple treating the Mini as the iPod touch of the tablet line, just giving it a newer processor and a few other features.
All just my personal thoughts and opinions, though.
Lol nobody is pissed off. We just see these same topics over and over again.
I understand that a lot of people don't keep up with current rumors and don't know if anything has been leaked, but regardless, until Apple officially announces something, we don't actually know anything.
My friend tried to tell me all about the "iPhone X" the other day, that had just been leaked. I got so upset.

I'd get a Mini Pro to go with my 9.7 Pro and replace my Mini 2, if Apple let's me.
