iPad mini IPad mini 6 + Brydge Keyboard (vs iPad Pro 11” + Magic Keyboard)

In case anyone else was curious…here are some pictures of the iPad mini 6 with a Brydge keyboard.

Personally, I’ve been trying to find an excuse to replace my iPad Pro 11” M1 + Magic Keyboard for the iPad Mini 6 (+ keyboard of some sort; I’ve found the Brydge Keyboard to be the best for me so far even though it’s far from perfect).

My iPad Pro 11” is my main computer; I’ve been MacBook-less since the iPad Pro 10.5” in 2017. My issues with the iPad mini 6 coming from the iPad Pro (in order of importance):
1) no Magic Keyboard + trackpad
2) no FaceID; TouchID is definitely nice and works well, but I prefer FaceID
3) no 120HZ, the 60Hz is so noticeable especially when you also have the iPhone 13 Pro

But the small/ultraportable form factor is amazing, and strangely, I can get by with all my normal tasks with the smaller screen. I’m torn with between the iPad mini 6 vs IPad Pro 11”. I know it’s a small subset of people but just curious how others who’ve been using the iPad Pro (11”) as their primary device feel when comparing the two, if you’ve gotten the opportunity to.

I debated trying to find a Bridge Mini keyboard as well, but that naked back would give me too much anxiety (though I did use my 12.9" with a Bridge keyboard for a year and a half haha).

Hoping to see a company come out with a Mini keyboard that covers the whole device~

Thanks for posting, that's a nice little setup. I'm really not getting on with the Keys-To-Go keyboard, but would like a keyboard I could use with it which is reasonably portable.

A thing to note with the Brydge keyboard is that the sleep/wake function will not work with the Mini 6. You have to manually sleep or turn off the Mini 6. I‘m just glad that I held onto the keyboard that I had with the Mini 5. It adds stability when used on the lap that I’ve not seen in the few options offered on Amazon. Also, Brydge has indicated that at this time, they are not considering a keyboard for the Mini 6. Until a comparable keyboard is made for the Mini 6, I’ll keep using my existing Brydge.

Really helpful post! Tried an Amazon third-party case and keyboard. Returned it. Awkward. Floppy. Inferior to all the Logitechs, etc., I've used since mini has been mini. Your Bride recommendation is a good solution. Can't believe Amazon isn't flooded with options like with previous minis. Guessing there's a good reason.

II purchased and just received this keyboard case from Amazon. The key placement is slightly smaller than the Brydge keyboard layout and some of the character keys are not where I’m used to, but I’m liking it so far. Also, the typing experience is much quieter than the Brydge keyboard. Now, if Brydge where to introduce a keyboard for the Mini 6, it would be an instant buy.

The exposed metal is from the keyboard hinge, (and a little bit where I overcut the TPU with a scissors ... Using an Xacto knife would have been cleaner). The hinges have soft plastic inserts, and I don't have a screen cover on the front so it slides in fairly easily. The back of the iPad is substantially covered by the TPU cover which is pretty soft. Along the thin edge where I cut the spaces, it isn't as tight a fit as on the other side, so I used a few small pieces of double-stick tape inside the groove to keep it pressed against the iPad. I tend to leave it attached to the keyboard so this works well for me. Here's the link to the cover on Amazon (basically a $10 experiment).

I have used Logitech and Zagg keyboards in the past. Really liked the Zagg “Slim Book Case” in terms of form factor and what seemed to be optimal keyboard layout and feel. Problem with the Zagg was the hinge would eventually fail and this I believe is the reason they stopped supplying that keyboard for the mini.

I’ve seen good reviews for the Brydge and just bought an iPad mini 6 and need a good keyboard case!

I just can’t understand why Brydge, Zagg, and Logitech have all shunned the mini 6. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

How is this accessory? I have a keyboard case from Amazon that gets the job done, but the trackpad is awful. Eyeing this one as I would prefer a magnetic attachment so I can easily remove my iPad. If the trackpad is even halfway decent, I may take the plunge.

I've always worried about the clamping force on this case. This is why I've never got it got my mini 6 or my mini 5 before it. I prefer to just have the mini 6 alongside my 11 inch iPad Pro with magic keyboard and keep my mini for consumption. I do prefer the mini 6 though.
