iPad mini iPad Mini 6 jelly scrolling

Just checked and my 9.7” iPP has a bit of jelly in landscape which I have never noticed with normal use, the conditions needed to re[produce the issue are simply not how I use my iPad, so if this is as bad as the new Mini is, all should be good for me.

Definitely is an individual sensitivity issue, though - I really don't see it and it doesn't bother me in the least. I did a blind test with my wife, not telling her what the issue was, and she said it looks great. But I understand that if you are sensitive to it, that it would drive you nuts.

The Pros have 120Hz screens so they are updating twice as fast and it is too fast for us to notice the pixels shifting as they scroll.

Yeah, I didn't really see it either. Must be a perception thing. In fact, except for the very first video in this thread, where it's obvious, the rest of the videos have been less impressive showing it.

I'm finding that I'm almost always using mine in landscape, the main exception being reading ebooks.

Just went from a Mini 5 to a Mini 6 and simply don't have any noticeable or objectionable screen deficiencies. The 6 is better than my 5 was, I did compare them side by side before trading in the 5. This whole "jelly scroll" panic is pretty amusing to me. I'm sure there is something there as it is the nature of the technology in use. But every single time a new Apple product is released there is this incredible rush to find every minor flaw and declare it a disaster. Go back and review the posts when the M1 laptops were released and look up the "disk write problem".

I mostly read this stuff for entertainment value, a study in how anecdotal reports can become scandals propped up on very little hard information. In this case a display does what all other similar technology displays do. What an outrage!

Nope. Many people were like me. Loved the mini for years so instantly preordered the mini 6. Found it so uncomfortable that I had to return it after a few days and go back to my mini 5. Very disappointed that Apple’s design choices led to them creating The Most Jelly Scrolling iPad Ever. Hoping they recognise their mistake and fix it for the mini 7. ProMotion would also help.

If there is a cheap Chinese brand Redmi device then I think it is acceptable, but Mini is not cheap at all.

normal just means it is hardware issue and they cannot solve it by software.

We should demand Apple at least offer a "portrait-jelly-free" version mini 6 as many users like us who use portrait for reading/note-taking/browser much more than "landscape" gaming/video!
