So for some reason on my iPad mini 6 I have the layout switcher (for lack of a better word - the globe button) to the left of the numbers/symbols button.
Is that some kind of hidden setting or did Apple just think it would be funny to change the layout for no good reason?

On my iPad Air these buttons are the other way around and civilized words fail me to describe how irritating it is on the iPad mini ?

Yes, others have complained, and apparently nothing you can do about it other than remove all but one keyboard in Keyboard settings, which eliminates the globe button

Ah, thanks for linking to that.
I found one thread that explained my problem but with no replies whatsoever. This helps, though.
