Random but this is what happened (but in reverse) when we ordered a 2019 MBA for my wife. We ordered the gold and when she got it and she was like... this is a lot more "Rose Gold" than Gold... and then the 2020 MBAs were announced so we returned it and got a Space Grey 2020.
Is this the official Apple one you got from Amazon? It looks a lot more like the Magic Keyboard-style build than I expected...

No - I just leave it there - but if the neighborhood is a bit shady it’s quite easy to detach.
That gives me hope... mine is estimated to arrive between February 14-21, still no movement.
It did arrive on the 10th, as expected. Really enjoying it so far. Love the form factor and light weight. Jelly scrolling in portrait is visible on very text heavy things but general web browsing I don't really see it. Yesterday I discovered I can connect a cheap USB-C to HDMI adapter and plug it into a TV's HDMI and use it to stream Disney+ perfectly with no configuration or fiddling necessary. It just works!
The last time MacRumors posted a sale for the Mini on Amazon, I ordered it as well since the delivery date was basically the same. I figured whichever one comes first I'll keep it and cancel the other one. Today, Amazon sent me a message saying I should have it by the end of the week!
On 24 Feb I ordered a space gray 6 256G wifi only + blk folio on the Apple store (military). Folio gets here (Virginia) today. Sked delivery for the 6 is 3 wks or ~16 Mar.
I’ve updated my profile. Employer has me with current gear but that profile is my own. Absent is a mini4 (2015) which was replaced by the 10.5. I left the mini4 in 2017 in an AA seat back DFW—DEN. Figured it was gone for good, bought a 10.5.
A year ago AA called me. The 4 was at AA lost & found DFW. Someone popped the folio & found my info on a ptouch label. Could not get the 4 to open, but last wk did a DFU. It’s working great and Apple gave me $140 to trade.
Long post beyond delivery dates but an old iPad is not dead; now it’s time to repeat with the iPhone (iMac has zero trade in😧)

I purchased the purple iPad mini 64gb online on 2/26 with a delivery date of 3/22-3/29. I got an updated delivery date of 3/15-3/22. I happened to check the Apple website yesterday and they had 1 available near me for in store pickup. I picked it up and I’m enjoying it!!!! I initially didn’t want the smaller iPad, but I’ve now moved to reading ebooks and figured I would test it out. I am happy with my the smaller iPad and glad I made the decision to purchase this! Cancelled my online order and just waiting on my accessories to arrive!!!!
I was lucky enough to find one on launch day and it's, by far, my favorite apple device. I think the only thing that can supplant it would be a super thin 12" M1Pro laptop...
update to my 1st post. Ordered on :4 Feb, zero progress since then. will be out of town after 17 March which was the earliest delivery date. Cancelled because the 256g wi-fi only is readily available in Apple Stores now. I pick it up tomorrow. Apple chiseled me $15 on a mini 4 trade in $150 to $125. Nice work Apple.
Walked into AT&T store yesterday, Ordered a 256g cellular- space gray. It shipped yesterday& arrived this afternoon! Cannot wait to get home
