You bring the peanut butter and the Mini will bring the jelly (scroll).

Bring on the ProMotion OLED Mini please 🙏
I so wish too, but after reading the rumors of the new display supposedly still being OLED, but maybe 90Hz and likely only being a single layer panel... I went crawling back to the iPad Pro with tandem OLED display. That damned thing is just so freaking gorgeous... I wish I had never looked at it lol. On the bright side, I'm ok with a slight bit more bulk/heft for the far superior and marginally larger display.. And my wife has assumed command of the mini and she absolutely loves it haha so win-win. Been waiting too long for OLED and ProMotion in the mini... and you just know if they add it to the 8 they're gonna jack the price by at least $100 at launch at this rate.

Despite being deep into Apple environment (Mac, Macbook, Watch), when seeking out a small tablet, the iPad Mini was a complete non-starter. Awkward shape, locked in storage and - of course - price. Even at 'sale' price, easily over $200 more than a sub-10" tablet should be.
Ended up with a Lenovo M9. A practical footprint that slips easily into my shoulder bag or larger jacket pocket, micro-SD expandable storage, capable of running all of the 3rd Party apps I have on my iPhone (and more) - and on its sale price, had for $99.

I wish I could do that, but all the iPads are huge patio tiles to me now (vs the Mini).

The Mini is the ideal iPad form factor for me, particularly when I go into portrait mode for reading things one handed.

Seldomly have I awaited a new Apple
Product as much as I am awaiting the iPad Mini 8.

For me, the iPad is a consumption device and the mini has the best form factor, and it allows for occasional annotations. Perfect.

By day, I'm a creative pro. A couple of years ago, I was curious what it would be like to move from my trusted pen + Field Notes work flow to a Pencil 2 + iPad mini 6 workflow. I was pleasantly shocked at how instantly the latter fully replaced, enhanced and evolved my workflow. Light switch. iPad mini 6 form factor is it's secret sauce. It's so perfectly portable - which doesn't come at a ht to capability. From sketching and note-taking to more process-intensive scenarios, I can't recommend the Pencil 2 - iPad mini combo more.

For consumption? Absolutely. For creation? Completely.

Nope.
I mean, aside from the fact Google lurks absolutely everywhere with apps, etc. I try and limit the damage there, too.

Otherwise this little Lenovo serves me well as an eBook and news aggregator reader, media player (audio and video player - most stored on the added micro-SD and all played through dual speakers), internet browsing, email, some gaming, sketching, and yes, even some work. Most 3rd Party apps these days are cross-platform or cloud-based and sync between themselves, regardless of device you pick up at the time.
