It’s AI ready! You know… the feature Apple is hyping up! Haha

Anyway If you can get a cheap 7th gen why not. But an even cheaper 6th gen mini is great.

I’ve had my 6th gen iPad mini since it came out and I love it. Unfortunately the 7th gen has no external upgrades like brighter display (I wish outside brightness was better). Other than that the jump is such a small difference I dont feel compelled to upgrade or even look for the 7th gen.

The biggest deference between them would be the RAM (4GB vs. 8GB), the base model storage (64GB vs 128GB) and newer CPU.

Yeah. 64GB is tight at this point in time. I needed to offload apps every time there's an iOS update.

It may be tight but at least future OS Updates will support 64GB. Look at the 8th Gen iPad, that will get iPadOS 19 and that comes with 32GB of storage ( but then it’s a cheap iPad so the storage doesn’t matter for the price then and nowadays)😊

We have a 32GB iPad 7th gen and that one needs to be pretty much empty in order to install app updates.

Most 64GB base iPads will receive several more years worth of updates. I wouldn’t be surprised if they reach the same frustration level as the 32GB models now.

Even the entry level iPad model has 128GB now. If one’s planning to use the iPad for 5+ years, I reckon 128GB is the smarter choice if buying now.
