One of the reasons I'm buying the Mini 5 is hopefully to use it as a monitor for a backup camera in my DeLorean. It is really difficult to back up the car. There is a space above the A/C vent & Radio that looks like it was made for it. It will also function as the GPS using Waze.

So, has anyone used either a wireless or wired rear mounted camera in their vehicle? It really doesn't have to be for your vehicle I'm just looking for ideas.

FYI, the Space Grey will match the car's interior;)

Thanks,
Lenny

Does it have the Mr. Fusion option? The only DMC12 I've ever driven had that and the rear visibility was horrible.

(I'm not kidding about that being the only one I've driven.)

It is a Stock Delorean not a BTTF conversion with Headers, High Performance Cam, and High Performance Ignition. But, yes I have a Mr. Fusion and a Flux Capacitor. I got them to shut people up. The first thing everyone says is "Where's the Flux Capacitor"

But, I don't want this to get off on a tangent on the car. I'm really looking for a backup camera solution

Sorry... I beleive there's no point in using an iPad. There are a lot of vehicle-specific options and CarPlay head units/displays are cheap. Even just a display comes in many sizes that may be more suitable.

If you're dead set on it though maybe someone else will have more info on backup cameras etc., it just seems more difficult to hook it in to the vehicle to get automatic backup switching etc.

Nope, can't change the radio it's a single din and then I would not have the "Stock" look.

iPads tend not to play nice with external accessories. You may consider an android tablet for your purpose.

My father-in-law had a DeLorean. Still remember replacing the gull wing door torsion rod on that thing. Definitely a cool looking ride. :)
