OMG. Wow. I finally saw, touched and played with it @ Best Buy.

It's a gadget-freaks must have device. As expected, the screen is nice and will be fine to me in marathon reading.

Thank you, Apple!

:D

Can't get over what I saw. I'll be playing with mine endlessly later. My jaw is all right now. Thanks for all the concern. :D

Woah nelly! They're already at Best Buy? I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow :D

And maybe the 13in rMBP if they're there too :p

Very happy with mine. The screen is more than good enough! It is going to be a great addition to household.
:)

Picked one up at best buy today. Elegant piece of hardware, restoring from back so still waiting to play with it.

They only had 6 16 gig wifi , so had to pick 32 or 64, took the 64gig

So damn light, should have good reader loaded soon, thats going to be the big test for me, will my pdf files be readable.

I cancelled my pre-order in store when I got the 32GB white one at Apple this morning. It is beautiful...the 4 looks good too, but today was the day for the mini.

So why no one's jaw drop on the ground when they first saw Nexus 7? I gotta hand it to you 7.9" screen is perfect. I can see Google will come out with Nexus 8 with 7.9 screen.

What makes the 7.9 iPad Mini a little wonder is that, it has more real estate in actual screen display and yet has the same total hardware real estate of the competitions (which have smaller 7" actual screen displays).

Google is going to come out with:

Nexus 4
Nexus 5
Nexus 6

Nexus 8
Nexus 9
Nexus 10
Nexus 11
Nexus 12

No, your jaw is fine, it's your eyes that can use some help because the iPad Mini display is a huge disappointment.

My eyes are fine, they know and can detect or distinguish what the real beauties / gems and what are not - am worried for all those people who seem to be allergic or being blinded now by nice non-retina LCDs. :D

So your eyes must be hurting by your other non-retina / non-HD products/screens. Way to be obnoxious in assuming what is not pleasing to you, is hard to believe, a wonderful experience to some.

The only non-retina products that I own are MacBook Pro's and Air's. And since they're usually about 2-3 feet away from me (and are vibrant and well saturated), they look great!

pdf's seem plenty readable (and my eyesight isn't the greatest), and that's with the DropBox app; not exactly a feature-rich pdf viewer. But my main concern was font size.

Tom

Aw let me guess, the wife said NO!
Ha! That's funny. Not married and gainfully employed (and no rug-rats to worry about). Actually I walked out of the Apple Store with an iPad 4!

No need to dance around an opinion - it's just that, an opinion. The display is average at best. It's not the end of the world, but worth noting for those of us who are picky and feel strongly that the display is the most important feature on a tablet.

If you like it, go wild with it! :p

And if you don't like it, don't be the obnoxious guy. :p ... "it's your eyes that can use some help"
