My iPad Mini cuts out some times. I'll be in a game and my Mini takes me out of it. At first I thought it was the game but my husband and my cousin have the same problem. It doesn't do it all the time. I thought this last update would have solved that issue but it hasn't. It hasn't done it in a few days and don't know when it will happen again. It's annoying. Has anyone else experience this? Just wondering. I do plan on talking to Apple about it.

cottonjenn,

I'm trying to understand what "cuts out" means, exactly. Are you immediately returned to the iPad's home screen? (You're not saying the device completely shuts down, I assume.)

If it's the former, it sounds like the app you're using is crashing. Without knowing more, my first internal question would be whether an older iPad mini might run out of available memory for a memory-demanding game – the system is able to terminate the app when that's the case. (Or it could just be some other bug in those games.) If it's either of those, then the onus is really on the developers of those games.

[doublepost=1470537757][/doublepost]When I say it cuts out I mean the screen goes black and I just have to hit my center button to turn it back on. Now for me it happens while playing Candy Crush, for my cousin it's also Candy Crush and sometimes when she does her mail. My husband does jigsaw puzzles or card games. Now my sister plays Candy Crush and has no issues. If it wasn't for my husband and my cousin's mail I would blame Candy Crush for the problem. I have 5GB of unused storage. It's confusing because it doesn't always happen.

Weird! Now I'm wondering what exactly is happening with the black screen. I'm assuming the "center button" is the circular home button. When you "turn it back on," does the home screen appear immediately with that animated "zooming back out" effect, or does it completely reboot after displaying the Apple logo for a number of seconds?

Which generation of iPad mini do you have? The first generation iPad mini will do that because it will run out of memory very easily, as Starfia already pointed out. The first gen iPad mini doesn't have much memory. Something you don't seem to understand is that memory and storage are different things. Look up the difference and you'll see how they are used for slightly different things in the device. You'll also notice that devices generally have MUCH less memory than storage, which is why it can run out fast on older devices.

Tell us if you still don't understand! Always happy to help.
Good luck!
