The iPad mini at the refurb store is a sweet deal. And a great travel companion. One thing I have learned, is that I wish I had a 32 instead of a 16. Only because it would be nice to be able to put more movies on it for trips. Once you own one you will find it is just more convenient for more stuff than you thought, vs your MBP. Let us know what u end up doing.

Thanks, that's a good point. Movies, I might get a couple from the Apple store. I will consider the 32 for just a few bucks more.

The iPad mini is my fav travel item. Perfect size for portability and surfing the web. I send emails, txts, update my travel blog and even edit clips and photos on it. Love it.

Having said that, I'm kinda bummed that Apple didn't change a thing on the iPad mini 3 except add Touch ID and a gold color option. No A8 chip means I'm staying with my iPad mini first gen another year.

I started with a 16 GB Mini but exchanged to a 32 quickly because you just cant put many movies on the 16 and for air travel that was key for me.

This is a big reason I'm going from an iPad Air 16 GB to Air2 64 GB. The 16 GB model is big enough for day to day usage but when I travel I need more room to load some movies or TV episodes onto it and with the 16 GB model I only have ~2 GB free after normal apps and such are loaded onto it.

Pretty Much Perfect

Ok, have had the mini2 for about a week now. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted and needed. Between what I bought on apple tv, netflix, hulu plus and amazon prime, I've got all my viewing needs covered. I got the 32 (to do it again, I'd do 64) and it's great. Only thing is it isn't syncing all my email. In fact only my .me address shows up, no gmail, which is on my iPhone and rmbp. I'm still trying to figure that one out. But overall, great purchase, tv and movies look great. The couple games I play are way better than on the iPhone.
