Starting this thread for discussion purposes. I believe the fact that Apple named the new iPhone "iPhone 5" and the new iPad "The new iPad" goes to show that Apple didn't want to make an "iPad 3" if they're going to branch out the line and create another product. Sort of why there isn't "iPod Touch 3" for example, because there are also Nanos and Shuffles in the same "family". The iPad 3 would be sort of confusing if you understand what I'm saying, if they sell it along an iPad mini. There's no other reason I can see that Apple opted to continue the number naming scheme on the iPhone instead of "The new iPhone" when the iPad went down a different naming path. There must be a reason. It also shows that were not seeing any iPhone nano or the like any time in the near future. Thoughts?
