Hello
I was trying to replace the digitizer on my ipad mini, however as i got a digitizer without the IC board i was not able to install it.

so I tried connecting the LCD again but the screen just stays off. i can tell that the ipad is on because i can hear the sound from inserting my charger. is this normal or is the lcd now dead too?

There are several YouTube videos showing how to do this in great detail. Did you follow one of those? Did you replace the digitizer because it was cracked, and was the display working before you did the repair? Tough to say without more info.

Yes i did follow a youtube guide.
and yes the lcd worked before. I was just wondering if it is a built it function or anything that would prevent the lcd from turning on if the digitizer is not connected.

Thanks

I can't say for certain, but my guess would be no digitizer, no display. They work together, so taking that digitizer out of the circuit is going to cut off the display. Sort of likes pulling the relay on your otherwise functioning power windows.

Okay, going to order a new digitizer with the ic pre soldered then :)

Thank you
