Is there anyway to unlock this iPad mini? Its iCloud locked and its running iOS8. Does anybody know a way around this or any third party software that can open it back up? I don't mind if everything gets erased and restored to factory settings. So that I can start from scratch. Its an iPad Mini 2 Wifi Model. Please and Thank You!

If you locked it, you should be able to unlock it. If you didn't lock it, contact the owner.

    Nope, its a security feature.

I suppose if you go to apple with your receipt in hand to show you are the rightful owner they may. I've heard that even then that won't work for the most part.

How did you come into possession with an iPad that is iCloud locked

    Expected response:

It's my mother's, sister's, cousin's and she passed away and left this ipad in her will for me.

    Or

I fell off a cliff a year ago and got amnesia. My family had been using my ipad. I updated my ipad and then formatted it, but because of the amnesia I can't remember my password.

You forgot about "I'm entered the right username and password and nothing happened."

    Well...

So you bought it real cheap from a guy who just happened to forget his password?

Someone is selling it on Craigslist for really cheap, so I was hoping to take advantage and get one for cheap but wasn't sure if there was a way to get it to work

    It's most likely stolen.

If they don't have the password and it's locked, it's very likely stolen.

    What is the seller's excuse?

    Huh?

    Dude, you are incredibly naive.

You bought a cheap, locked iPad off of a free internet site and you didn't care it was pretty obviously stolen?

Going by what the OP said, he/she did not buy it yet. However, the story seems suspect either way.

    Hmm..

I assumed he had it if he knew it was iCloud-locked.

I haven't bought anything and I probably won't. I was just curious about whether there was a way to unlock it. The seller doesn't give any reasons why it's locked.

Please save yourself the $50 bucks. You cannot unlock the iPad. There are several websites out there that say they can unlock it for you, for a price. This works for the poor gullible people that already fell for one trick, try not to fall for the second.

Just for fun, ask the seller why it is locked :)

People on here are taking this way to serious. I know it's probably stolen, I was simply curious to see if it could be unlocked.....

So had it been possible, would you have bought it?

    What was the price?

Wow! Did you ask any questions: reason for selling, why it was locked, condition?

So you'd be happy knowingly paying money to a criminal who (possibly violently) stole this from someone?
