Hi,
I have a imac g4 700MHz Power PC running OS X 10.4.11
When my son plugs in his mini iPad it is not detected by iTunes 9.2.1
(although it is detected by the computer).

Is there anything I can do about this? I probably can't upgrade my software anymore.
Regards,
David.

There is not much you can do. If you had the Leopard operating system and iTunes 10.6.3, that may work. But iTunes 9.2.1 won't be able to read or load anything for that iPad.

Any lightning device you own you are out of luck with PPC. The 4s with iOS6 was the last one to be supported fully on Leopard's iTunes.

If you have all your purchases on an Apple ID, he can download all the music from iCloud without syncing to iTunes at all. If the data is not purchased through iTunes, then he is out of luck.

Sadly, you're SOL. You need at least iTunes 10.7 and an Intel Mac.
