I'm not going to get one, I like the 10" one, but it sure looks nice. This puts the iPod touch in a weird spot. This iPad should be priced similarly, making the iPod seem grossly expensive.
Am I the only one who loves these mockups? I can't wait till it comes out. Will get one just for reading.
Apple is marketing the 5G iPod Touch as a camcorder and camera, something that the iPad Mini would lack.

The new iPods don't come out till October. They wouldn't have announced them already if they had a media event planned for October.
They usually announce something and say, it's out next week, not next month.
If this iPad is going to come out it won't be till next year, and it would make a $299 iPod touch a stupid purchase. So after last weeks anouncement I don't see it happening. Not this year and not at a sub $300 price point anyway.

They would if they didn't want the iPad mini to share the stage with any other products.
The side/rear design of the case (the "lip") makes it look thick, even though the rumored HxWxD would make it _very_ thin. I guess it's the curve/light/reflection ... weird.
You know, I don't see why the Mini has to priced more than the iPod Touch. Maybe they share the same price point, and it's not a matter of which one is bigger, it's a matter of features, specific component quality, usage model.
If you want the more portable product, that really doubles as a very good P&S camera, has FM radio ... you opt for the Touch.
You want a larger device, that's the "entry level" tablet ... then buy the iPad Mini/Air/Junior/Nano/Tiny/Atom/Whatever

Right, forgot about that. Still, the size, the flash, the wide screen and features like the Loop would make the iPod more viable for that usage. And double the memory at the same price.
Same fake screen as on the white one IMO, everything is in the exact same position, the apps, even the little red update circles match, both position indicators show first of four homescreens, same date on the calendar...They're not the only ones, which is why I decided to post it at all.
That said, I'm still hoping these mockups are pointing to the real thing!
Running iOS 5, I call fake. You would think they would need to run iOS 6 on it unless it is running all iPad 2 hardware for compatibility.
