I have a rMini right here (bought AT&T model) that works with my wife's Verizon SIM and my T-Mobile SIM.
Doesn't that contradict what you recommended? How did you get the AT&T model to work with the Verizon SIM?

In this case the Verizon SIM was already activated, so no issues. More of an issue for new activations.
It will work but it's not gonna be easy. For one thing, Verizon's not gonna let you activate service with the AT&T iPad mini 2. If you already have a working SIM, you're fine. If not, then good luck getting one.The Apple refurbished store only has AT&T models available for the iPad Mini 2.
Do you know if I buy an iPad Mini 2 for AT&T, will work on Verizon?
All of my research says "yes" but the Apple store chat rep said "no"... actually, she said "Only the Verizon iPad has the LTE chips to use with the CDMA network. The AT&T model does not support Verizon."
That doesn't seem right based on this thread. I got another rep later who said that it comes configured out of the box for that carrier, but he also implied it wouldn't work.
