    Hi all

I've just got an iPad Mini this afternoon. The problem is, unlike my iPhone 5, it won't work on my home WiFi connection. The issue is odd, because I can browse the web on the iPad Mini, and add my Outlook account etc, but it initially couldn't connect to the activation server, and subsequently can't connect to iCloud or the iTunes store, so it's basically unable to communicate with Apple over my WiFi connection. When I tethered the Mini to my iPhone 5, it worked without any issues, and it's also working fine at my parent's house connected to their WiFi.

Has anyone got any idea what the matter could be?

    Many thanks

That old British Telecom router is most likely your problem.

See if it can be upgraded to something modern or put into gateway mode. As a gateway you can attach a modern WiFi router to it. An Apple AirPort Express would work well for most people.

The router is fine with the iPhone 5 though, which is while I'm puzzled about the iPad.

Make sure the router firmware is up to date. Rebooting it may help.

Solved this; a simple update to iOS has fixed the issue. I was trying to avoid updating to the latest version so that I could jailbreak but never mind.
