:D I finally made up my mind about which iPad i wanted to return. In the end the rMini went back home to the Apple Store. I liked the lighter weight but the Air is a better device for my needs and outside of the house I dont notice the weight differences at all. In fact, I would regularly hold the iPad mini with two hands right up to my face reading text and stuff. Plus the Air is so immersive it makes me not want to use my computer at all.

Just curious, is this your first iPad? I've never had one before and am interested in the opinions of those upgrading vs those entirely new to iPad. :)

I sold my mini love the air, the size is perfect for my needs, sometimes bigger is better.

I think everyone should try the mini once. I did for a year and missed the big screen. I tried mini again and I just liked the Air more.

I also purchased both but I returned the Air. It was to big and heavy. I love the retina Mini.

I've reached the same conclusion. To read certain websites and PDFs, I found myself holding my mini almost as close as I do my phone. Not going to fly. I do like that it's easier to handle than the Air, but it's not as if the Air is a brick. For portability, I have my phone so that's a non-issue.

Way to soon to return considering the extended holiday scenario. I prefer the Air, the rMini may grow on me but like I said it's too early.

can't help you then if 1lb is too heavy for u, go lift weight or sth

No need to be rude and insulting but I guess that's the nature of the anonymous Internet forum.

The fact is that the original poster stated why he returned the Mini. I stated why I returned the Air. While a 1 pound device is never considered heavy the portability and difference in weight is noticeable.

Congrats on your decision, im still in the midst of debating if I should exchange my rMini for the air since I only use my iPad at home and school. First world problems...

Now now be very cautious of the word "immersive", we won't want someone to come in here and turn this entire thread into an argument about its definition. :p

I only use my Retina Mini at home too. It's much easier to use with one hand. If you like to multitask. Both are great units but I much prefer the Mini.

Respect for others has definitely gone downhill in the Internet age. Used to be such behavior got you ostracized if not punched in the face. Now there's no disincentive for uncivil responses.

Mini more portable
Air more usable, less zooming and scrolling

Having both in a case neither fits in my pocket so regardless they both would end up in a back pack.

Luckily there is an extended return period. this will give me some time to figure out if the mini will have a purpose.

The mini isnt less portable than the air in my opinion. You are still carrying around a tablet either way. I carry them both in my bag so there really isnt a difference in portability imo.

Damn you, some of us are still waiting for our rMini to arrive from Apple.com.
If you're return mini's had 'good' screens you should have sold them on here, could have pocketed a fortune.
