I don't see Apple having different size iPad's so soon. They may have a smaller 7" and larger 12" in the future, but I doubt it would be only after one year. If someone wants something smaller, buy an iPod Touch. But honestly, people are gonna complain that it's too big or too smaller no matter what sizes Apple offers. Even if Apple came out with a 5" iPad and 7", there would be people complaining "Well the 7" is too big, but the I think the 5" is too small. I hope Apple comes out with a 6" iPad this spring."
They already did - Skynet sent an apple rep back three years with the iPad nano so it could use the device as a way to find John Conner. He botched the assignment however when he allowed it to be released as the iPod touch instead...
It was the fold@home iPad app that spawned Skynet so it was really a self fulfilling prophecy.
"There is no fold@home iPad app!"
That's what they want you to think .........
here we go again...
I would not buy that
the only apple product that is perfect nano size is, the iPod nano.
I still remember for months and months people were convinced that any day now Apple was going to release an iPhone nano, I'm only assuming that those people are still waiting.
"If anything, the iPad should expand in size."
Oh god no. I'll NEVER want to use something the size of that monstrous JooJoo tablet.
It's a type of paper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foolscap_folio
"A full foolscap paper sheet is actually 17 by 131⁄2 inches (431.8 × 342.9 mm) in size"
Oh god wow. I'm sure some genius out there thinks that bigger is better no matter what in the tablet world too.
Thanks for the laugh!
Have we already forgotten about the iPod touch?
this would tie into apples patents on screen back lighting using the sun and other light sources as back lighting.
i have also heard before of the 5 and 7 inch ipad possibility, im sure its just prototyping right now.
With a large iPod Touch being released recently, we didn't even have the chance.
There are other companies that have been already selling 5" tablets before the iPad. That 5-7" seems to be a great size to have media functions, web browsing and email.
I believe that Apple have been long considering the options and somewhere in a German bar we'll soon find a prototype.
I just realized that Dell has already done this
That size is ridiculous, its too big for a phone and too small for a tablet.
The iPad is a great device, but I think it's screen should have been slightly larger say right on 10", an this would require a slightly larger IPS display and could be done without increasing the iPad size physically, by way of halving the bezel thickness (black border). I personally wouldn't want any smaller than the current iPad.
I think it should be smaller. I just picked up my Archos 5 32GB flash model after 1 month of neglect to update the firmware. I have to say the size and weight are very nice after handling the iPad for a whole month. The screen is a bit smallish. Something about twice the size (roughly half an iPad) and less weight would be sweet!
....the difference is negligible.
No thanks dont want smaller as this ruins the whole device, the larger the better. You dont want to be squinting at the screen and having issues with finger input because everything is a lower resolution. I love the size and weight of the iPad.
I like even numbers - 10" would be perfect.
Smaller doesn't mean lower resolution. It can actually be the same or higher resolution on a 5" or 7" screen. Something not as heavy. It wouldn't replace the iPad, it would be an option. Different strokes...
