Hi, anybody else experiencing audio glitches, stuttering with iPad OS 14.5 on an iPad Pro 4th gen 2020? The audio lags, begins to sound like a robot and gets out of synch with video. You can even hear the audio for a second after you close the app! YouTube app is pretty bad but also music apps like Spotify sound like a robot. I’ve rebooted a few times.

yup yup same same. Kinda hard to believe this was released like this...any fix in the new beta?

Count me in! Been experiencing this only on wired connections, using either the Lightning or USB-C adapters on my iPhone XS and iPad Air (4th gen). I thought it was just a Spotify thing. Then I started noticing it on Apple Music too. And since it occurs on both my iPhone and iPad, I guess it’s safe to conclude it’s an iOS/iPadOS thing. Hoping for a fix in 14.6!

Same for me on iPad Air 4.
Workaround : removing and reinserting the usb-c fixes the problem.

I can confirm that iPadOS 14.6 does not fix the issue on my iPad Air. 😕
😟 i was told by apple chat to do recovery mode haven't done yet since i don't have my laptop with me. the issue is getting worse i keep have to remove and reinsert the dongle while watching video.

I really think this is a software issue since it only started with 14.5 on both my iPad and
and iPhone. So even if you reinstall, it looks like you’ll still get the problem.

There’s a thread about it in the Apple forums. Someone swapped their iPad for a new one but the problem persisted.

yeah that's what I told the chat person too. they insist i do a recovery mode. eventhough i told them many times that the problem start happening on 14.5

i don't know if it's the same issue but if i have music playing sometimes it will cut out for a second if i close an app/folder. happens on both my 12 Pro Max + 11" iPad Pro 2021 with both 14.5 and 14.6.

I have the exact same issue with iPad air 4. Fine with Bluetooth headphones or through built in speakers. Problem is with usb-c connected headphones via dongle. Swapped dongles and even got a replacement iPad Air 4 today and issue is still there! Also applied iPad OS 14.6 and problem persists! Hoping next ipad OS fixes this since it persists across devices and different usb-c adapters and different headphones. Issue also persists even with plain vanilla iPad install…i.e. I did not restore from a previous backup. I hope Apple acknowledges this issue and fixes it soon.

Did this problem occur on your other devices? I see that many of us are on the iPad Air (fourth generation).

My iPhone XS on iOS 14.5 had this problem. Looks like iOS 14.6 fixed it for my iPhone, but my iPad Air is still exhibiting the issue. How do we bring this to Apple’s attention? More people are posting in the Apple Discussions thread I posted a while back.

The timing is pretty terrible, considering that lossless is launching on Apple Music soon, and we’ll be needing our wired earphones/headphones to listen to those lossless tracks.

iPad is 14.6 on my iPad Pro 12.9 2020 still has this problem. No fix.
I am using the apple usb c to mini plug dongle with apple earpods.
Unplugging the usb dongle and replugging it in fixes it for a short while until the issue returns later.

mine is iPad pro 12.9 2018.when watching video i pause it then resume the video the stutter will happen again. then i have to unplug and replug the dongle. if i were to pause the show again and browse safari or to play some game. the stutter will occurred again. i just keep unplug and replug. 😵

Same problem here with iPad Pro 11 M1 and the Apple USB-C audio dongle and iPadOS 14.5 and 14.6

PSA: unplugging the headphones (not the dongle itself) also works as a temporary workaround.

Lets see when this wil be fixed

I’m experiencing this issue with my ipad pro 2020 12.9 since iPadOS 14.5, and 14.6 is still the same. How could the Apple doesn’t fix this issue despite it‘s been a long time the issue came out. I think I have to move to another device when I watch the Youtube videos until it is fixed. It is so frustrating.

I propose that we let Apple know about this problem via their feedback page. I’ve submitted mine. I don’t know how closely Apple monitors that channel, but it’s worth a shot. I can’t think of any other way of letting them know, apart from calling their customer service.

I‘m glad that it appears to be fixed for you now! 🥳

In my case, my audio was stutter-free for only a few songs on Spotify, and then the problem came back. 😔

OK the problem came back again. 😒 well i have good 2 day. hope apple release a fix soon

I also have this problem :(

Using a 2021 iPad Pro on 14.6. Already submitted feedback to Apple.

Did a little test today. It doesn’t happen with Apple Music or any other audio only apps. It’s only happening on audio from videos.
