iPad OS 15.4 no reply option with SMS in Messages

Not sure where to post this, but on iPad OS 15.4 (M1 12.9 Verizon) I can no longer reply to SMS messages. iPad can receive SMS but does not have option to reply to messages. iMessags (blue bubble) work perfectly fine. Text messages forwarding is enabled on iPhone. Anyone has this issue? TIA.

It’s all ok for me iPhone 11Pro and iPad 2018 11”. Have you tried to disable msg forwarding and then enabling it after?

Thanks, I tried that, but still no reply box for SMS. Super strange.

Do you have an apple watch by chance? I remember seeing a lingering similar bug that required going into the apple watch app, then either disabling notifications, or just turning them off and back on again. I had another issue in the past with other apps only sometimes having sound, I ended up deleting the watch app(Don't have an iWatch)

UPDATE: 'upgrade' iPad OS to public release 15.4 from beta fixed the issue. SMS reply box is back! Thanks.
