Iwas using my 64 gig 3G IPad on the patio and got warning triangle with "IPad needs to cool down before you can use it". It was not really that hot outside but IPad felt really hot. Itook it inside and let it cool down. When it felt cool to the touch I took it outside again and started use it again. After few minutes I got the same error message. It got me concerned that maybe battery is malfunctioning but it works fine inside. Anybody experienced something similar?

It's not too surprising. Metal gets hot in direct sun. So, avoid long exposure to direct sun (that goes for you, too!). A light-colored case might help.

There are a good number of threads already here and at other forums on this unfortunately fairly common problem. Apparently iPad is not meant to be used outdoors in the direct sun. Air temperature doesn't seem to be the problem as much as the direct sun impact.
