I just had notification on my Mac about a carrier update for my iPad 3 (3G).
Synced it up and after it had finished I found the personal hotspot option under Settings, Network.
All I have to do now is buy a gig block of 3G data.

Helstra Blows....

Why use Telstra {unless u are rural} they are the most incompetent rip off phone co. in Australia. I am in a major city and use Amaysim on the Optus network {I used to be with Helstra} I find the coverage to be identical other than download speed is roughly half that of Telstra - For $39.90 a month I get 4gb of data plus unlimited calls and sms + 1300 and 1800 numbers included free. I see you have an iPhone 3GS, I use my iPhone 4S to tether to my iPad you could do the same. That way you are not paying for 2 Helstra plans - You could have also saved money by purchasing a straight wifi iPad instead of the pseudo 4G model.
