With the new iPads expected to be announced in late October, when are stores likely to lower prices on older ipad stock?

Probably the day the new models are announced/revealed. Apple Store may drop the price of iPad Air that day, to clear out stock.

Have you somehow missed all the recent sales on the iPads? I actually keep forgetting that MSRP for base iPad mini/mini with Retina/Air is $299/399/499 because they always seem to be available for $199/299/399.

Where have you found a Retina or Air available for $199? The lowest price I've seen a retina mini for is $275 (16GB from Best Buy with a sale and student discount) and for an Air its in the $300's or $400s...

Seems like my post was misunderstood.

$199: mini
$299: mini with Retina
$399: Air

You can sometimes find them for lower with some special deals but you can find the above pricing practically every week if you monitor deals sites.

It would of been wise to mention that I live in Australia :D Unfortunately, the deals don't appear as sweet on this side.
