iPad Pro iPad Pro 10.5 2017 model - battery replacement.

I read somewhere that someone had their battery replaced on their iPad because it was below 80% for $79. Mine still runs great but the battery is dying quicker. I looked for a battery health indicator on my iPad and could not find one. Is it even worth it to replace at this point?

With regard to checking iPad battery health, for years I've used the free app Coconut Battery, available here:

If you want to replace it with Apple it's $99, not $79. And third party tools are not reliable. They can tell you that your battery is below 80% and Apple can tell you you are at 90% and refuse to replace the battery

I took in my old 2018 iPad Pro 11” for a battery replacement. $99 they botched the job, Apple had to give me a refurbished 11” iPad Pro but they have NO 2018 A12X units so they had to give me a refurbished good as new of not new 11” M2 iPad Pro.
2 generations worth of upgrades and 8GB RAM up from 4GB LOL

That’s exactly what happened to me
