The Khomo is trash. You should have known better than to trust that cheap piece of junk to protect your iPad. I read the reviews of it and many have had jagged interiors that left dents and scratches on people's iPads. I even ordered it myself but I never used it because the quality was horrific! I currently switch between the Tech 21 with a Smart Cover or the Jisoncase. The Jison is the best option if your looking for a Smart Case alternative.
I too ordered a Khomo when I first got my 10.5” iPad Pro and promptly returned it. I couldn’t believe the bad quality after all the rave reviews I’d read. The case didn’t fit correctly so the back bowed out in the center and moved on and out while on the iPad. There were also strands of dried glue hanging off of it from the cheap fabric back being glued on, and some of the cutouts still had jagged pieces of plastic hanging off of them.

Sounds terrible. I saw those cases online but wasn’t interested in them at the time. After reading theses posts, I’m glad that I passed on them.

I also tried brydge keyboard and iegrow from Amazon. They offer stable and more viewing angles than ASK and more function keys but they are heavy and loose too many keystrokes. They also not so responsive, fast and accurate like ASK. If only ASK could offer more viewing angles and be more stable on lap it would be perfect.

Yep—I eventually got the Tech21 as well and couldn’t be more pleased with it. Their iPhone cases are trash but the iPad cases they make are rock solid.

Not sure why Apple never made a 'Smart Case' (covers the front and back of the iPad 10.5) for this newer model iPad.
However, does anyone have a link to a replica type 'Smart Case' for this model?

Thanks

Presumably due to the smart connector on the side. There are plenty of similar alternatives though - I use one for mine but can't recall the make.

I been using an STM Dux Plus for 3 months now and in love. Case is strong and good quality, really good protection also.

Got the Zugu Prodigy for my 10.5, and it's amazing. I previously had the Kavaj leather case, and while I liked it, the leather around the edges of the bezel made it really hard to swipe at the edges, and I needed to be able to easily open/close multitasking.

Not true, Apple did sell a back case for the older iPad Pro 9.7”

I think the reason why Apple stop selling case for the newer iPad Pro is partly marketing. So when you’re using your iPad Pro outside, people can see the thinness and brand of the tablet you’re using

I've searched everywhere for the best case that is compatible with the Smart Keyboard. I think the i-Blason Cover Case is the best so far. I don't care for the clear back, but it fits well and provides full coverage

I have the similar ESR back cover -

I like the matte feel and look on my White/Rose Gold 10.5 iPP. I use it with both the ASK and the Smart Cover.

Could someone recommend me a keyboard? I am thinking the zagg messenger pro.

I did just get the 10.5 on sale through Best Buy and picked up an apple Smart Cover and a Speigen back cover. Overall I think it looks pretty slick. A little disappointed in this back cover being marketed as “clear” as it gives it more of a frosted appearance.

Can anyone in the UK provide a view on the best fake Apple leather sleeve for the 10.5 with back shell and ASK. I may remove the back shell if using the sleeve

My favorite iPad keyboard case ever has been the Zagg Rugged Messenger. Very versatile, well manufactured, durable, and great quality keyboard.

Great! I actually ordered one through amazon warehouse deals - damaged packaging but perfect product for only $50. It should arrive today! Very excited to only carry this around with me when I am on shoots in NYC instead of my bulky CMBP.. Sounds like a first world problem but man that thing is heavy in a backpack when you're trying to cover 20+ city blocks! I couldn't beat the price of the iPad on sale.. it's pretty much a 2017 Macbook. Now we just need an iPad OS to unleash these devices to their full potential.

As I'm keeping my 10.5 for another year, I decided to treat it to an official Apple leather sleeve. Picked up a mint condition Taupe one on eBay for £45. Very pleased. Goes well with the charcoal Smart Cover/ASK.

My back shield of choice since day one. Superb.

I haven't seen this one until you mentioned it. Nice case. It very much turns the iPad into that "laptop like" device. I kinda wish they made a rugged case without the pencil holder.

I contacted the Twelve South company, who makes the book book leather iPad covers, and they told me they would not have a cover for the new 10.5” iPad Pro until some time next year, unfortunately.

Hmm. That would be largely pointless now that the new 11" design is out. This is the problem if you get stuck with a one time design, lack of accessories.

I have a 10.5.

It seems that most of the sleeve manufacturers don’t like making sleeves for the 10.5” Pro that accommodate both a MoKo TPU back cover (with corner bumpers so a bit bigger) and an Apple Smart Keyboard.

I bought a ProCase sleeve that fits the above pretty well, a little tight at the corners (due to the bumpers) but otherwise good.

However, while the ProCase protects everything well, it’s a bit bulky for my preferences for everyday use. I’d like to get something thinner. I bought the tomtoc sleeve but it only works well with a naked 10.5” Pro, even though they claim it is compatible with the Apple Smart Keyboard, and compatible with the wider 11” iPad Pro too.

With even just the Apple Smart Keyboard it doesn’t keep closed consistently, and with both the Apple Smart Keyboard and the Moku back case on it won’t stay closed at all.

Hopefully the rejuvenation of this form factor with the release of the 10.5” Air (which is also ASK compatible) will induce the sleeve manufacturers to accommodate this type of setup.

I like the pro case. It would be good for traveling. I use a padded envelope that I get when buying stuff on Amazon.
