Hello Everyone. I bought a used iPad Pro 11" 2018 model. I am in the UK. It is the Cellular model. So I tried to insert my SIM card to use it but it showed me an "Enter Activation Code" screen. I have attached a picture of the screenshot. I am now very confused.

In our house we have other iPads, including the 1st Generation iPad Pro 12.9" and none of the other iPads ever showed us this screen. All we had to do on those other iPads was click enable on the "Mobile Data" menu and insert a SIM Card.

Does anyone know what this means and where I get this information from? I have never seen this screen before.

Thank you.

Also, when I enabled "Mobile Data" my only option is this: https://prnt.sc/r9hdvk , since I don't recognise these names I chose "Other". If I choose "other" I get this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/r9heig

Any ideas?

That looks like a carrier lock.

That's a carrier lock on the esim. Pull the sim card out and you can see you'll still have those options available to you that got you to this screen.

IF the sim is active, the iPad should pick up the carrier and details automatically. I had trouble getting mine set up because TMobile was adamant that I need to enter my IMEI even though, at the end of the day, it didn't matter as I would be using it as a data sim in multiple devices.

I had to go in store and get the sim card activated in order to get the ball rolling.
