Anyone noticed that the iPad Pro speaker is not as loud? Trying to figure if there is something wrong with my iPad or if it’s normal?

I tested this iPad Pro 11 inch full volume vs the iPhone XS Max full volume and the iPhone is much louder.

Anyone else having similar results? Might have to take it for an exchange if something wrong

Have you done more tests on this? I don’t have the 11 inch model to determine if it’s worse....

Don’t have the 11 inch but with my 12.9 it’s just as loud as my last 12.9. Have you had an iPad Pro in the past by any chance and was it the same or different. Since you didn’t mention this I assumed you didn’t have the iPad Pro before to gauge if there was a difference. If you can go to a store where there is another iPad Pro, test it out.

I tried out the 11-inch in-store at Best Buy, it was not so extremely loud is was going to break the roof, but it was plenty loud. One major difference and possibility of the iPhone being louder (besides a possible malfunction of your 11-inch iPP) is that the iPhone is more tinny and the sound is rushed out of a smaller area compared to what the iPP does... so it seems louder, but the iPad is has 4 tweeters and extra room and bass so its a more full/actual sound compared to the iPhone.
I was just testing out my 9.7" iPad Pro and iPhone Xs Max and the iPad was overall louder and better but I could here the phone.
But having a higher volume doesn't mean something is a better speaker, it depends on how the sound is output.

Kallum.

I have to agree about the speaker volume on the iPad Pro 11. I’m coming from a 12.9 2nd generation which was much louder.

I have to turn up the volume really high on the new iPad Pro 11.

I don’t see this as a show stopper as the majority of the time I wear headphones when watch video / listening to music.

Ah great , so it’s less loud then. I used to have the 10.5 inch iPad Pro and i remember it was much louder. I find myself turning the volume all the way up with this new ipad when watching some YouTube videos.

The 12.9 is louder, and the 11 is louder than last years 10.5.
