Hi guys,

Within the last week I've noticed my launch day iPad Pro 12.9" (1st Gen) developing this strange bluish border around the edges of the screen. It's only noticeable when content has a dark background, so in this image I've shown it with a black YouTube video:

I assume this isn't something normal and it doesn't really look like backlight bleed. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

This iPad doesn't have any sort of extended warranty but maybe it's worth visiting an Apple Store anyway to see what they say? What do you think.

Yes, definitely bring it to an Apple Store. That's definitely a manufacturing defect. You might get lucky and they will replace it regardless of it being out of warranty.

You're definitely looking at a screen replacement. I would be curious to see what is causing that bluish tone on the bottom of the display like that. Please let us know what you find out.

Just an update guys:

I visited an Apple Store today and the iPad was replaced under UK consumer law, after the genius verified the screen issue. He theorised it could be either the backlight failing or an issue with the LCD, no-one would know for sure without dissembling. I'm really happy with this solution and customer service from the guys today!

Good to hear. Also, interesting to know the actual defect. I would be willing to think it's the LCD display.
