So here it is, I found an iPad Pro 12.9, its 32gb and WiFi only, and the price is really great, but I don’t know if I “need” it, more like a want. So a little background info, I have a mini 5 WiFi and LTE, love it, take it everywhere but I also like to have a full size iPad for the real estate. I had a iPad Pro 9.7 32gb WiFi only, I mainly use it for entertainment, games, movies, I also have the keyboard because I love the fact that it has become my almost MacBook Pro replacement (I have an aging 2010 MacBook Pro, I replaced the HD with an SSD and its breathed new life in it, but since then, I noticed I don’t really use it as much because of the convenience and portability of my iPads).

So a few months back, I found a deal I couldn’t pass up, iPad Air 3, 64gb WiFi, the price was unbelievable, and I jumped on it. Bought the keyboard, already had a pencil, its the perfect compliment to the mini 5. So now comes the dilemma, I found an iPad Pro 12.9 32gb WiFi, based on the serial # it appears to be a first gen, I am currently in the process of taking some online courses, I feel the bigger screen size would be a benefit, but my Air 3 does everything I need.........so any opinions and pros and cons are greatly appreciated
(thanks in advance, and sorry if this was kind of long).

If you already have 2 latest-gen iPads then no, it isn't worth it. I have one exactly like that (12.9 1st gen 32GB) and I feel it's too big at times. However, it's incredibly fast on iOS 13, esp. for a device released 4 years ago. Since it has the same RAM as the latest gen (4GB), you're not missing out a lot on performance, just on features (ProMotion, flash camera...)

If you really really want one, I'd suggest looking for a 12.9 2nd gen with the ProMotion screen and with support for 3-way multitasking - then you'll have something that actually feels different from your other iPads.

I believe the iPad Air 3 has 3GBs of RAM. Don't let that worry you though, I use one at work and performs very close to my 10.5" Pro. Unless you really want the bigger screen there is no reason to go with the 1st Gen 12.9" Pro.

No, that definitely isn't worth it.

Same answer from me: You already have two great iPads, so it's not worth it except you absolutely need the bigger screen.
