Ye it's the pencil I really want but the new display seems like the main selling point, so what are you gonna do then?
i'd be curious to see this new display in person. zero percent of the hands on reviewers commented on improved saturation or reflectance. some pointed out the true-tone effect, which is a nice evolutionary feature of display tech, but i'm not sure i want to pay an early adopter premium for a feature that i've lived without forever and never really missed.
as to what i'm going to do, i'm sorta hoping that if deals on the 12.9 started popping up after a couple months, the same will happen with the 9.7. its a 'fine' device i'm sure, its just really hard to justify $799 + $130 pencil = $929 Canadian dollars when an air 2 at double the storage costs $600 and the only thing it lacks that is critical to me is the pencil. is the pencil worth $300 extra? thats my conundrum.
well I just sold my macbook air and old 120g iPod classic on gazelle (couldn't find any real buyers) and have a $80 credit on paypal so all said and done I owe about $300 to get the 128 9.7. I hope that it will suffice as a notetaker and research tool going into my masters.
Check out powermax! Never heard of this site but reviews are great and customer service is as well. I'm getting 560 for my mbair instead of 345 on gazelle. Only catch is that you have to trade with them, you don't get cash. Also they will send new device before you have to send in your device. They are taking preorders starting tomorrow around 8am PST.hmm... thank you for reminding me of this. just checked apple's recycling program, and i have $300 in devices i don't use anymore lying around, probably losing value by the day. that *aaaaaaaalmost* might make the base 9.7 pro feasible.
