I strongly believe the iPad Pro 2 9.7" & 12.9" will be released sooner rather than later. Apple would lose a marketing advantage plus research and development on the A10X processor. The next iPhone 8 will have a A11 processor in the fall so the clock is ticking for Apple to release these new iPads ASAP. I cant see them wasting time, money, and reputation releasing the new iPads in the fall with the A10X. I am assuming that the A11 will be more powerful than the A10X.

I personally think it's coming next month. Especially considering the fact that the iOS 10.3 has code for the new iPad Pro.

Could be that in the future Apple is releasing iPads in the spring/summer and iPhones in September to maximize their sales.

The iPad doesn't really have much of a current timeline, with iPad Pro 12.9 inch launching in November 2015, followed by the 9.7 inch iPad Pro which launched in March 2016. Fast forward a year later, the 9.7 inch iPad launches This Friday. , The iPhone has been released in September annually, which doesn't necessarily have to do with projected sales, as much as it has to do with parts suppliers and manufacturing as a whole for one they have the final preparation of the launch. Years ago, they actually had the iPhone launch in June.

At what time usually the invites are send?

There really hasn't been a specific time when invites are sent. Within the last two years in March, it's usually within a week of the actual keynote. But this year there is no way of telling, being is uncertain if there will be a keynote this year.

This is interesting, still it doesn't mean that they will launch new iPad's at an April event it could be later in the year. http://appleinsider.com/articles/17...id-apple-pencil-with-next-gen-ipad-pro-models
yes but this mean we will have an April event. stay tuned for the invites to come today or Friday

I actually don't think there will be a 9.7 Pro. The 9.7 will be replaced completely by the 10.5 in a more compact form factor, close to the same size. Along with a redesigned 12.9 also.

its clear we will have 9.7" ipad, 10.5" and 12.9" ipad pro
like we have 12" Macbook and 13 and 15" Macbook pro

Not sure why it is clear, but I think it'll clean up the lineup a bit if they remove the 9.7 pro. Why have a 9.7 and 10.5 that are the same physical size, and both be pro? Redundant?

I'm not so sure about that, these iPad's could launch along side the iPhone 8 in September, otherwise why only announce a new cheaper 9.7" the other day? they could of waited and unveiled them all at a April event.

Maybe they need more time to discuss features of the pros? Maybe other products as well? The 9.7 the other day was pretty lackluster, no point to discuss old tech in an old shell.

If the 10.5" iPad Pro is the same size as the current 9.7" iPad Pro then i think they will remove the 9.7" add the 10.5" and then the Pro models will go 10.5" and 12.9" it's a bigger jump in screen and would justify the Pro name with a bigger screen and more screen estate to use.

I could be wrong and there could very well be an April event but I'm not holding my breath. Also the new Steve Jobs theatre isn't ready yet so i wouldn't expect it to be held there.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

I expect the first keynote at the new theatre to be for their biggest moneymaker, iPhone.

Exactly! iPads have *just* been updated; there won't be more iPad updates in April.

I was really hoping to buy a new iPad for my 21st next month, but oh well my iPad 2 can soldier on. More important things in life to worry about.

Was hoping for the 10.5" Pro to be announced, but I highly doubt we'll get anything before WWDC now at the very earliest (and even then I'd say Sept/Oct would be more likely). I doubt they would have forgone the opportunity to talk about the new iPad, red phones and watch bands at an event if it were just around the corner.

Okay idk why people keep thinking Apple wouldn't announce new ones just because they showed the new budget iPad. The Pro is for a entirely different market of customers and would sell just fine if they released here in a couple weeks.

yea

, they forgot Apple made the ipad pro and SE event last year and after 1 month 12" macbook silent update

Because logically they would announce them all at the same event. Also the Steve Jobs theatre isn't even ready yet.

They were separate products they didn't announce an iPad and then a week later announce another iPad via a silent update.
