I still own a 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 (the first version I think?) and it has started to slow down, particularly when opening and setting up files in Procreate / Illustrator / photoshop and it will lag sometimes being noticeably slow to draw a line or position points using the pen tool etc. The iPad overall still works fairly well and is in good condition but I have been thinking about upgrading. I suppose my question is will I see a noticeable difference in a 2020 iPad Pro? (or 2021 depending on what gets released)
Besides the obvious design changes, will the drawing experience be much more fluid? is the screen quality significantly better? is the 2nd generation pencil more accurate?... I suppose I might be looking for someone to justify why I should purchase a new one but if I'm going to spend near enough £800 to begin with, before considering larger storage, cellular, accessories and even the larger Pro then I'd like a bit of assurance! Unfortunately haven't been able to get to an Apple store for a while to look in person.
I mainly use my iPad for sketching, concepts, layouts, emails, media consumption and I love note taking on it too. Hopefully in future I aim to use it for more architectural related work.
