What type of glass does the newest iPad Pro use? Does it use Corning Gorilla Glass 5? Or 6?

I’ve tried to find this information, no luck.

Uses Gorilla Glass 6. Because no other company is making 11” Panels in such volume I would have heard about it. There’s only a handful of fabs on earth that can churn out quality 11” glass to Spec.
They just don’t call it Gorilla glass because Apple requests it own special blend to avoid paying for brand name “Gorilla Glass”

I figured so, thank you. I had read somewhere that Corning had designed a new glass that was twice as strong as there own Gorilla Glass 5, and that was around early 2018 supposed to be just for the new iPhones, and iPads that would allow numerous waist height drops face down without shattering.

In case you need more proof.

Happy to have it on my iPad. I’m almost tempted to take the screen protector off, almost! Lol.

Obviously iPads are heavy, but I imagine that a standard iPhone XS is super tough against drops front and back.

Very informative videos.

The Verge article is completely off base. GG is designed to be strong so that ir doesn’t easily fracture. Scratch resistance comes from a coating applied to the surface. This makes it harder and less reflective.
