Sometimes my Apple Pencil stops working, he is still recognized by the iPad (when I attach it, it shows the battery) but no input
Even turning on and of the Bluetooth does nothing ... only troubleshoot is to reboot the iPad
Am I the only one facing this issue?
iPad Pro 2020 11" 128GB here

Yeah I just got a new iPad 11" over the weekend. My Pencil suddenly stopped working last night while I was on Procreate. I tightened the nib, restarted the iPad, went on bluetooth and pressed 'forget this device' and still nothing. I thought it was the Pencil having issues, so I went to the store and exchanged it. But even the new Pencil (2nd Gen) that they gave me, wasn't being recognised. I called Apple Support and ended up reseting, then erasing all my settings on the iPad and it still wouldn't reconnect.

This is so frustrating, because it's such an expensive product, and now it won't recognise the Pencil. It won't show up as connected/charging/nothing.

Yesterday I didn’t got any issue
maybe you should try a factory reset of your iPad

I am having the same problem. After being on the phone will apple they were going to send me a replacement. Problem with that is they need the old one back before they send me the replacement. And I am an Assistant Principal so I am working from home and need it to stay connected. So after chatting this morning they are arranging an express replacement for me instead. I was worried that they would send me a refurbished one but she assured me that because it is due to a malfunction that I will be getting a brand new one. Granted I am sure they dont have any refurbished ones yet anyway since it is only a week old.

I hope this helps. It is definitely a problem with the iPad itself since it works sometimes and not others.

Interesting
for now the issue just went away
I will wait for the end of this mess and see if I have still this issue

So I have gotten a replacement iPad and a replacement Apple Pencil and the issue still exits. I think it might be a software glitch. Anyone else still having this issue.

I have the issue from time to time, but I just need to reboot and the problem goes away for 3 to 4 days

This is happening to mine several times a day. :( Luckily forgetting the pencil and reconnecting usually works, but it's less than a week old and I don't want to have to do this everytime I grab it. I tried my roommates pencil and the same thing happened - it's never happened on hers, so it's definitely the ipad itself. I opened up a ticket with apple.

Such a bummer after so much waiting for it to arrive.

Turns out my iPad case was the issue. I got a cheap magnetic cover case and I have no idea how, but leaving it closed interfered with the pencil. I left the case off overnight and the pen worked fine the next morning.

Can you tell us the brand of the cover case you got? I had order one from amazon (hasn't arrive yet), but if it interfere with the pen... i might end up canceling the case.

I got this ESR case - I'm just going to keep it and deal for now. It was very inexpensive, and it was always going to be a stop gap until Zugu comes out with the 2020 case in colours. I guess I'll just have to keep the iPad open all the time, which is fine for now because I don't need to put it in a bag ever. I have no idea how the case can be interfering with the pen input, but it seems like it is.

Thanks, looks like it's a different type of case that I had order. I ordered the rooCase Magnetic Case hopefully it doesn't have any interference, otherwise i keep an eye in case this issue does occurs. Thanks!
