Anyone else experience their ipad overheating with the latest ipadOS update? Suddenly my 11” ipad pro 2024 gets way too hot. It was purchased new from Apple in May 2024, over all that time there’s never been the slightest issue with heat.

UPDATE: Sat 7/11, it appears to be connected to just this one app Golf Clash, so I contacted them about it. What makes it seem connected to the latest ipadOS update is that the same app was used for 6+ years and it never did this before this past week.

This experience overall kind of shows me how it’s pretty nice how since 2019 when I first got another model ipad, I have not really had any problems with the devices whatsoever. Hoping this 2024 model will stay decent for another 2-3 years.

I have the same model/year and the only time I noticed overheating was when using the Chrome browser. Close/quit the browser and it cooled right down.

thanks for the idea, i never use that browser though. it seems to be mostly when using the game Golf Clash so maybe it’s temporary, i don’t know.
or it’s indexing like @rui no onna suggested… however the OS was updated not just yesterday when the heat started, rather several days before that.

I have not been home today so i haven’t had time to use it, but i’ll update the post in a few days.

thank you both for the suggestions.
