The A12x chip inside the iPad Pro 3 is extremely fast. This thing is finally surpassing MacBook Pros. Here are some of things that are really impressive.

    1. The removal of the finger print reader and switching to Face ID.
    2. Smaller bezels and thinner design.
    3. Faster charging and longer battery life.
    4. Faster processor on par with laptops.

I’m excited for the new iPad Pro, I’m just hoping it won’t be too expensive.

Yeah Apple is starting to get close to “it’s just not worth that much “ I fear. I went with the Xs max but I thought it was on the edge price wise. I will upgrade to new iPad but next year I will have to see more value in phone and iPad to upgrade.

Just my opinion but I suspect I’m not the only one beginning to have these thoughts

I think Apple will keep the price down for the iPad Pro 11"! For the 12.9" model add $200 on top of that!

Base 128GB model will start at $1,200.00. 256GB will be $1,350 and 512GB will be $1,500.00

Good grief I hope not. That’s too much money to be asking for an iOS device running 12.

I am not expecting a huge price increase, maybe $749 for 64GB or $799 for 128GB. The 12.9 for $100 more.

IMO the base Wifi (should be 128 GB) 11" should be USD 849.

    The 12.9" should be +200.

    Cellular +150.

    256 +100.

The new one is going to be a fortune.. I can't wait for it to drop so I can get the current iPad Pro at a discount.

There won’t be much of a discount. Maybe USD 50-100 for WiFi and 0 for cellular. New ones will be in a separate tier price wise.

What is a fortune and why do you think it will be increased so much? I am only anticipating a $799 base for the 11 inch.

Apple has increased prices on everything - Watch, Phone, Macs... the iPad will follow suit.
    --- Post Merged, Oct 22, 2018 ---
100$ is a way better deal - I am already seeing them on sale for $549.00 through Best Buy and am thinking about trading in my Air for the 2017 (Current) 10.5 WiFi iPad.

Yea I know, I expect an increase. But a fortune? No. I expect a $799 base.

That's still a lot for what you're getting... iPads are not computers.. they are great at consuming media but terrible at making media on.

Of course they are. The 10.5 is the best computer I have used from Apple in the last 20 years. I completely disagree, but that's a different subject. As someone who uses an iPad as my main computer for work and personal, $799 is an easy buy for what I am getting.

While I am glad an iPad works for you as a main computer; we obviously have different needs. I could see myself spending $799 if it was my main; but I just can't see myself editing docs, spreadsheets, production work, going through raw footage, accessing remote media servers..etc with an iPad. It just can't do it for me.

And that is totally fair. I don't expect it to work for everyone, but I just get tired of the "iPad is not a computer" mentality on this site just because it doesn't work well for them. A MacBook Pro doesn't work well for my needs, but I still know that it's a solid computer.

Your spot on IMO. Tim is aware of this. That is why we see the massive Services growth, and the XR this year. iPhone is still too much of total revenue IMO, however I see the changes for that being soundly implemented in most areas. The largest problem IMO is the Beats line of audio. So I expect a very modest price jump. Units sales need to drive the Services by expanding the Ecosystem through Market Share. I think they are finally coming around to this. They need to push the Mac harder as well. I'm interested to see the value in the new MacBook on the 30th. :apple:

This product doesn’t exist in the public yet. I don’t for a second believe your post is anything but a copy and paste job of rumours stated as if they were fact.

I don’t think they will jump the prices that much higher than the ones before - I hope not. I was planning on getting the 512gb, but not at $1500 - that would be ridiculous.

Right now, I am using my 2015 12,9” iPP as my only computer. It is working - just getting the kinks out and learning “new” ways to do things....

I have a brand new Space Gray 10.5" 512GB Pro still in it's wrapper for sale. Well, I just posted it locally on CL a few minutes ago lol. Shoot me a reasonable offer.

If you’ve actually seen an iPad Pro 3 a week before the announcement and you were stupid enough to talk about (because you can bet Apple has an embargo until after the announcement) then you are going to join Gizmodo on the banned from events and review device list. Enjoy your new status.

If you are just hawking rumors as fact, that’s just lame

An iPad cannot do what a full fledged computer can do, period. Apple has purposely designed it this way. Now if they would throw a full Mac OS on it and give it at least something not proprietary for a connector. Then it would be considered a tablet computer. Doesn't matter whether it works well or not for whomever; it is what it is.

Now that said, I'd like to buy the newest iPad Pro 10.5" if it's announced next week. I'm going to try my best to use it more like a computer within the confines Apple has set for me.

Bull. I make media on my iPad all the time. Just cause you lack the skills and knowledge or maybe it’s the desire doesn’t mean you are everyone. Folks need to just can this whole debate. If it doesn’t suit your needs, fine don’t buy it. But don’t act like you are some universal cause you aren’t
    --- Post Merged, Oct 22, 2018 ---
And not everyone needs a ‘full fledged computer’ so if you do, buy one.

Sure, and a "full fledged" computer can't always do what an iPad can do. For some people, an iPad is just what they need. For some people, they need a more traditional computer. Either way, there is no wrong choice, pick the best tool for the job. For me personally though, I'll choose iOS over macOS any day as it has been a much more productive and enjoyable experience. I manage a team of 60 people and use just my iPad Pro and iPhone, mainly for email, drafting proposals, collaboration with my team on documents, analytics dashboards, server management, document scanning, FaceTime meetings, collaboration at the desk level, creating and sharing presentations, etc. It's been an extremely freeing experience, so I recommend it highly.
